On Monday, we went to the zoo and saw a bunch of animals. We went to a room where we learned about rainforest animals. We got to pet a sloth and two cockroaches, and they hissed. We also learned about how people would kill beetles and put them in boxes and take them to the United States. They would kill them in the rainforest of Brazil. We also learned about a parrot that would do anything for a treat. Ryan and Cooper
We wrote letters to the zoo, the people who gave us the money, the chaperones and the museum people who helped us. Heather
On Thursday, we had field days and we did five relay races. One of them you had to balance a ping pong ball on a lunch tray, and another one you hand to run with a ball between your legs and get it to the other side. There was a huge bouncy castle. Eliot
We wrote to Congress about how the rainforest is being cut down and why it is bad. Mr. Poznar said that this is a test of writing what you have learned. We had to write why we need the rainforest, whey people are cutting it down and ways to make the rainforest stop getting cut down. Ethan N. and Colby
In art, we were helping Mrs. Houze clean up the art room for the new art teacher. Last week, some people helped Mrs. Houze by cleaning the paints and this week people helped by cleaning the tubs because they had dried plaster from making the bottle pets. When people did not want to do those jobs, they could free draw. Morgan
We learned about Chico Mendes. He was a rubber tapper who told the world to stop cutting down the rainforest. When he got shot, it helped alot. People kind of stopped cutting down the rainforest. After his death, people heard that he died and more people found out that the rainforest was getting cut down. Heather and Colby
